Patina does not require an account. Your photos, edits, Memory Book pages, Memory Capsules, and app preferences are primarily stored locally on your device. Optional AI features and purchases use trusted third-party services only when needed.

Introduction

This privacy policy applies to the Patina mobile application (the "Application") created by Ivan Trendafiloski (the "Service Provider") as a Commercial service.

By using the Application, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information Patina Stores Locally

Patina may store the following on your device so the app can work:

Imported or captured photos and videos you choose to edit
Edited images, Polaroids, Memory Book notes, stickers, and Memory Capsules
Filter choices, theme preferences, app settings, and local usage limits
Optional location metadata for memories, if you grant location permission

This content is not uploaded to Service Provider servers.

Camera, Photos, Microphone, and Location

Patina may request access to your camera, photo library, microphone, notifications, and location. These permissions are used only for app features you choose, such as taking photos, recording video with audio, importing from Photos, saving exports, scheduling Memory Capsule reminders, or placing memories on a map.

You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Patina AI

Patina includes optional AI-powered features such as recipe suggestions, image tuning, captions, or sticker generation. When you choose to use an AI feature, relevant image or text content may be sent to OpenAI or another AI service provider to generate the requested result.

Do not use AI features with photos or text that you do not want processed by a third-party AI service. AI features are optional and are not required to use Patina's core editor, camera, album, or export tools.

Purchases and Subscriptions

If you purchase Patina Pro or a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. Patina may use RevenueCat to help verify subscription status and manage entitlements. The Service Provider does not collect, store, or have access to your payment card information.

Notifications and Live Activities

If you enable Memory Capsule reminders or Live Activities, Patina may schedule local notifications or live activity updates on your device. These features are used to remind you when a capsule is ready or to show progress for selected app experiences.

Information We Do Not Directly Collect

The Service Provider does not directly collect or store:

Your name, email address, phone number, or contacts
Payment card or billing details
Your full photo library on Service Provider servers
Advertising identifiers for third-party advertising

Third-Party Services

Patina may rely on Apple services, RevenueCat, and optional AI service providers to operate selected features. Their use of information is governed by their own privacy policies and platform terms.

Children

Patina is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to the Service Provider, please contact us so it can be addressed.

Security

The Service Provider uses reasonable safeguards within the Application design and relies on Apple platform protections, App Store purchase processing, and third-party provider security practices for external services.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
